Authors in the Attic

One of our many awesome Authors in the Attic submissions last week, enjoyed over a steamingly amazing huge pot of tapioca pudding….yummmmmmmm.

Sonnet to Sweet Pea

-by Miss Tulip

A star of giggles attracting hugs and kisses,

Streaks across the big Biesinger sky.

Its rays of joy strike with no misses.

Regarding defense, there’s no use to try.

Hurtling in with no right warning,

It tangles with an already starry scene.

Keeping us up till two in the morning,

The blazing brilliance is clamoring to be seen.

A heaven-sent figure, garbed in captivating cute.

Another fiery flavor in our constellation of chromosomes.

Another new melody for our punk flutes to toot.

Another figurine to add to our garden of gnomes.

Unto us, of all the families on earth and sea,

Was born an angel with the alias of Sweet Pea.

Eli had a GREAT story that Daddy transcribed for him which I totally need to get into digital format to preserve.  He was really intent on getting someone to write it down. I totally blew it off, thinking that what I had gotten from him was enough. I do that so much!  Feel like I know best when I really need to just let my kiddos lead out and stop trying to coerce them through bribes to do what I feel they should be doing. Anyway, back to Authors in the Attic, Piper and Elijah definitely put the most time into their writing.  Dad’s was actually pretty serious and sweet.  He said he had writer’s block and that’s why, lol.  But the rest of us all had fun!
