Eli just reminded me that you can chat with him on his birthday! I told him you were probably asleep and he said, "What??? Hyrum sleeps??" Apparently, he meant "at daytime" but I thought it was cute.
Yesterday we were at the park playing football in 90+ degree weather...because it's FUN!!! Xai took care of Penelope for me (for a price=a box of cereal). We looked over at one point and he was at the swings while Penelope played nearby. He was busily chatting with another "playground mom" as if he were born to it! He is such a great playground mom!
Penelope left soon after that while he was chatting, chasing a bird across the playground. Apparently, after a while it had had enough because it flew straight up into a tree and Penelope ran up to the bottom of the tree and stood transfixed, gazing up for a few minutes. Super cute. She treed it.
Xai: "A few days ago we were at a graveyard and we were helping people find their ancestors easily by taking pictures of the tombstones. And I was a partner with Piper and it was super awesome, but she kept putting grass in my ear to make me think there was a bee in it. But also there was a good side of Piper at that time; she put this wet towel on my neck so that I wouldn't get a sunburn right there."
"After we finished all the gravestones, I asked Piper if she could chase me 'cause she was chasing the girls. And after that Maia had this jug of water and so we started pouring it on our necks."
"At that time we were making a pool at Oma's and Opa's house. we went in the pool while it was filling. Here are the people who went into the pool so far: Piper, Maia, me, Eli, Leisl, Hava,and Penelope."
"A few days after that in the morning I overheard Mom talking to Lily on the phone. they were talking about concentration camps so when Mom said "It's ok if you're walking around with one leg." so I said, "LILY LOST HER LEG." Mom said (sorry I forgot what Mom said). But I do know that Lily didn't lose her leg."

Liesl shared a story about camp:
"At camp, there were two bugs that suck your blood. Their bums were attached so Eli tried to make it so their bums weren't attached anymore so that they couldn't have any more babies."
Today, Maia spent a great deal of time making paper cranes.
Piper spent time preparing for her STEM camp by watching videos and she had a piano lesson.
The pool was freezing cold (being filled) but Maia and Eli kept staying in. The kiddos all worked on cleaning out the vehicles. Liesl and I did a puzzle with Oma and then she and Xai did diamond coaster crystal art, while Penelope sorted and stacked magnet shapes.

Dad just said that when he was a kid, Primary was held during the week.
The kids asked if he went to school.
He said he was raised in a pig shed.
Xai exclaimed, "No wonder you were desperate to marry Mom!"
Ouch!
